Company Blogs: We Blog for You

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

More and more company blogs are popping up on the internet with various degrees of success. There are some businesses that have the same approach to their blog as they do their main site, which is a static set of information that is constant and unchanging. Because of this, their ranking on the Search Engine Ranking Positions (SERPs) is also static and unchanging.

The sole purpose of a company blog is to attract new visitors, especially of the target audience to the website. This is a simple process that involves various degrees of activity to have positive results.

The main site of a company promotes what the business does to make a profit. This is either a service or a line of products. The blog can generate traffic to the different sections of this site by promoting a specific part of it with an article marketing campaign. This is with the use of SEO’d articles and specific keywords the target audience are using to find products that are similar to the company in question.

The SEO’d articles use keywords that attract the search engines and get the articles listed on the SERPs. Once there, the surfer will become informed, and if serious, will look for more information. This is when the links that are built into the articles provide one of their purposes. This is easy access to the company’s site where the possibility of a purchase can happen.

The other purpose of the links is in support of the ranking system the search engines use for their results pages. The more quality links that are established, the higher a site is ranked. Each web page that is linked to a high ranking site then receives the positive effect of being linked to it with higher rankings itself.

These are just a few ideas of what company blogs can do and how they function as part of a company’s business marketing plan on the internet.,

The Company Blog

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

The company blog has become an essential part of the business world. This was inevitable since access to the internet has reached all corners of the globe. As the internet grows, so does eCommerce.

At the turn of the 21st century, over 80% of shoppers preferred a brick and mortar store. But this is when the shift to online shopping was beginning to change. It was the first year the preference for online shopping reached double digits with 11%.

In 2010, the projected sales amount is $173 billion for online sales. This has grown by leaps and bounds since the beginning of the century with no end in sight.

Many people are finding out how easy it is to turn to the internet and the search engines rather than the old and reliable, but slow, yellow pages to find the goods and services they need. This is when the importance of the blog by a company becomes so important. No matter what time of day or even what day it is, you are open for business and the selling your products and services can occur.

But just being on the internet is not enough anymore; traffic must be generated to direct your target audience to your site. This is where article marketing comes into play. This can be done with a carefully planned and executed online marketing campaign.

The next step is to have a blog that is informative and easy to use. Most visitors are looking for specific information or items to purchase. A well-constructed site will make this easy for them to find and execute the transaction. The more complicated it is, the less likely the visitor will follow through with any purchase.

For a company blog to be a benefit to your business, it must be easy to use and to understand for the promotion of your product and services. You must also drive your target audience to it as part of your marketing campaign.

The Value of Business Blog Marketing

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Today’s business blog marketing has replaced traditional ways to get the word out about goods and services.  Blogging and social media are now the fourth most used online uses.  In fact, 64% of businesses use social media to advertise their products.  Of these, most use social marketing for five hours per week, and about one third use it for ten hours per week.

Additionally, blogs are cheaper than traditional forms of advertising.   Blogs can be piggybacked to an established website or they can be set up for a nominal cost.  Once up and running, a blog need only be updated with new content.

Companies are using blogs for image, new products, customer feedback and search engine placement.  They also build relationships with the public and generally promote the brand.

If you use the new social media and you blog, you are in good position for 21st century business.  Many business owners are hanging onto the older marketing forms such as television commercials, newspaper ads and radio advertisements.

But many people don’t buy newspapers anymore as the overall content is available on demand over the internet.  And television newscasts are diminishing.  Local community newspapers like the Penny saver are giving way to online classified advertisers like craigslist.

So the business owner who relies on these older forms of marketing is missing a huge opportunity.  People are looking at search engines for information.  Therefore, it behooves you to learn how important blogs are and to contribute to them.

Blogs written for business involve updated articles with particular attention to the keywords that people type into the search engines.  If you can incorporate these keywords into your new information the search engines will grab your site and give you prominence on the search results, making business blog marketing well worth the effort.
